We have training and experience in over 26 therapy modalities. These methods are leading relationship and couples therapy techniques that have proven to bring lasting results. Some of these modalities include:
The Developmental Model of Couples Counseling
The Developmental Model of Couples counseling ascertains that when you are strong and secure in yourself, you will be stronger and more secure in your relationships. With this model, we focus on growth as individuals that then translates into growth in a couple.
Emotion Focused Therapy and Emotion Focused Couples Therapy
Emotion Focused Therapy helps you heal and manage your emotions as well as tune into the emotions of your partner. This process helps you form a secure relationship based on emotional attunement and trust, and has been proven to get results with 75-90% of couples therapy clients.
Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy
The Satir Transformational Model of Family Therapy (STST) helps you transform negative patterns of relating into more positive ones. This approach raises self-esteem, improves decision-making skills, and helps you be more responsible within a relationship. Notably, this modality promotes incorporating families into therapy rather than focusing on only the individual experiencing difficulty.
Gottman Method of Couples Therapy
As a result of 35 years of research on couples, John Gottman can predict couples divorce rates with 93% accuracy. Gottman’s approach to therapy uses this research data to help couples become better friends, manage conflict, and support one another in your hopes for the future.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Couples Therapy begins with education on how interactions with your partner have become ineffective and how to get them back on track. The therapist and couple work together to assess how these patterns play out in the couple’s relationship. Therapy sessions are used as opportunities for the couple to practice communicating about challenging topics with the therapist as coach. Finding ways to accept and manage core differences is also emphasized.
